Topical Fish Care
Instructions
•
Tropical fish like warm water and are not fond of drafty places.
• Fish need to breathe so when adding water
to vase, don’t fill to top. Leave some space for air. It’s best to use only bottled water. It helps keep their
living area clean for a longer period of time.
• Tropical fish like to have 25% of their water changed weekly.
Make sure water that is added is room temperature. If tap water is used, chlorine must be removed with a water treatment process
before adding tap water to vase.
• They like to eat freeze-dried bloodworms or brine shrimp, or a pinch of
Betta fish food twice a week.
• Just like the fish, the plant likes warm temperatures and thrives in indirect
sunlight. The plastic saucer can easily be lifted out to feed fish and trim roots when they get too long.
•
Betta fish prefer to live alone. Do not add any additional fish to vase
Do It You Self Instructions 1. Always
wash and throughly dry glassware before using. Remove labels. 2. Rinse gemstones to remove any dust or dirt that may
be harmful to fish. 3. Remove plant from it’s pot and thoroughly rinse ALL soil from roots. This may require several
soakings. Trim roots. 4. Use scissors to cut about a 2" hole in bottom of plastic saucer. Gently work roots through
hole to base of plant. 5. Gently place a 2" layer of gemstones in bottom of vase. 6. Fill vase with bottled
water to approximately 1" below neck of vase. This leaves air space so fish can breathe. Gently add Betta fish to vase
of water. 7. Take plastic saucer containing plant and begin working roots into vase. Once roots are in water, rest plastic
saucer securely into opening of vase. Fill plastic saucer with remaining gemstones. CAUTION: Keep away from direct sunlight
or any heat source. 8. Wrap ribbon around neck of vase and tie ends together. Trim off excess ribbon. 9.
Cut length of wire. Estimate wire length by wrapping loosely around neck of vase four times prior to cutting. 10. Bend
wire in half. Twist wire near bend to make a loop. Near loop, thread and/or twist wire ends around a shell or bead. After
shell or bead, twist to secure. Add more beads or shells by threading and twisting wire through or around additional beads
and shells, as desired. Make sure to twist wire between each to secure wire. 11. To attach wire embellishment to neck
of vase, wrap finished wire tightly over ribbon. Thread wire ends through loop and twist wire over loop to secure. Trim off
excess wire.
